Saint Zita – Saint Of The Week

Saint ZitaSaint Zita

Feast: 27 April

Patron: Domestic workers

St Zita is a woman many, mothers and household keepers, can associate with. She is the patron of domestic workers.

Saint Zita was born into a Holy Christian family surrounded by family members living out a Christian example of life. Zita’s mother would help Zita be obedient to God’s will.

When Zita was only twelve she became a housekeeper for a wealthy family. She worked for them for 48 years, within this time she went to daily Mass and was in continuous prayer. She would look after the sick and visit the hospital many times through her week. She was able to do these things even though she worked as she had proven herself to her employers by being an honest, kind and patient hard worker.

She was blessed and received Holy visions.

St Zita,  pray for us.
