Making your own Pizzas have never been so simple! Try out this recipe for Nutritious Whole Wheat Pizza, made with whole wheat pita bread.

Nutritious Whole wheat Pizza

A wholesome 'guilt free' pizza made with whole wheat pita breads. Quick, simple, hot and crispy within minutes - a real crowd pleaser!

Cook Time 15 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients
  

  • 4 whole-wheat pita breads
  • 3 cups fresh mozzarella grated
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp pesto
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste or tomato sauce
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 coloured pepper your choice, seeds removed and thinly sliced
  • BBQ Sauce

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees
  • Spread tomoto paste, pesto and oregano over base of the 4 pita breads
  • Add the chicken, mushrooms and your choice of pepper to the pita breads
  • Sprinkle with cheese
  • Drizzle BBQ sauce over each pizza before cooking

Notes

Optional Ingredients:
- Garlic flakes
- Cracked black pepper
- Chilli flakes
You can add any other toppings to your pizza such as ham/ cracked egg (beaten) over the top of the pizza before cooking.
Serve with a fresh salad.
