Where did you grow up?

I was born in Singapore, but migrated to Melbourne with my family when I was 12 years old.

What was your experience of Catholicism growing up?

I grew up very blessed to have both parents who practiced and imparted the faith to us. They set a very good example and taught and explained the faith in a very positive way.

How did you meet your spouse?

I heard about him through friends and went on a blind date. We sat in Max Brenner and chatted for 6 hours… must have been all the coffee!

Where and when did you get married?

My husband and I got engaged after 4 months and married within a year of meeting. We got married at St Marys Star of the Sea Catholic Church in West Melbourne.

What do you love most about being a mum?

I love the energy of the children around the home, the laughter, the excitement and never having a dull moment. I also love the fact that my husband really appreciates what I do and acknowledges it daily.

What do you find the most challenging about being a mum?

I am trying to speak affectionately to my children ALL the time. This is something I am constantly working on. I love them to speak gently to one another and therefore I need to set a good example myself. I also find bath time physically challenging! Bathing 5 kids is hard work!

Why did you start the YCM team?

Sarah and I started the website about 1.5 years ago (I think!)

What is your role at YCM?

I am the co-founder of the website, I do love writing articles when I get the time. Sarah and I also work together to try and meet as many new mums as possible and begin friendships this way.

What do you enjoy the most about the YCM network?

I love meeting new mums and hearing their stories! I love the support we offer mums and admire how much of a difference we can make to each other’s lives just by reaching out that little bit.
