Cheesy Hash Browns are a quick and easy snack, delicious breakfast or lunch. And a great way to get the kids to eat potato!
Cheesy Hash Browns
Ingredients
- 3 Medium Potatoes
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Peel and grate potatoes.
- Put grated potatoes inside a (clean) tea towel, and squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
- Crack the egg into a medium bowl, beat. Add potato, grated cheese, flour and salt, combine.
- Add oil to pan, and put on high until oil is hot then turn down to medium. Fill a 1/4 cup measuring cup with mixture and carefully place onto pan. Flatten with egg slide. Repeat with remaining mixture.
- Fry Hash browns until they are light brown around edges, then flip cooking for another minute or so.
- Once cooked place hash brown onto some paper towel to soak up excess oil, don't not cover or they will go soggy. Enjoy!
