‘Becoming the woman God made you to be’ by Tammy Evevard, Servant Books, $19.95
This book is one all women should read, especially in their formative years when we are first exposed to beauty myths, peer pressure and self esteem issues. Evevard draws on the lives of women from the Bible such as the Samaritan woman at the well; mythical characters such as Mulan; legendary women such as Corrie Ten Boom; and her own contemporaries to discuss women who have discovered their dignity as women and now revel in it.
Her book is a conversational and often frank look at what it means to be a woman and what it really means to be true to God’s purpose for you.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was accessible and almost had the tone of a good friend chatting to you.
This is a must for any woman who has had self esteem issues, or is struggling to find the grace in each day – at school, at work, at home.
