If you know me you have heard me mention how much I enjoy Lent, not because I particularly enjoy sacrifice! (No that bit is hard) but I do enjoy how it just seems to come about at just the right time. We have been on a high feasting and celebrating over Christmas and New year, and in some ways we have become very comfortable in our life styles. It’s summer, we want to relax enjoy our holidays and just have fun! Which is great, but we can’t be making “having fun” our top priority all year round! We can easily get caught up and start to forget about our spiritual life and the importance of sacrifice. Enter Lent. A great time to remove all those little distractions keeping us from truly relying on Our Lord. And a great opportunity to renew our prayer life! Last Lent I set a task for myself to renew my prayer life and the result was amazing! I will admit though come Christmas time I had lost my commitment to my daily prayers. So I am thankful Lent is here to remind me of the importance to take up this commitment again!
I have included for you a copy of the prayer book I made for myself, so that I have no excuse not to pray (and it takes away the need to read prayers off my phone!)
I encourage you to take up this commitment to daily prayer:
Morning Offering
Angelus (Noon)
3’Oclock Prayer for Divine Mercy
(and on Fridays full chaplet of Divine Mercy)
Night Prayer, Examine and Act of Contrition
All these prayers are included, plus a few extras!

Great idea Sarah! And so small you can throw it in your purse when you head out!
Thanks Emily! Much simpler than googling prayers and getting lost in cyber space I find! haha
