Meet The Team: Introducing Ashley

 

Ashley Mitcham is a convert to Catholicism. An occasional blogger Ashley, along with her husband and 3 year old daughter, welcomed a baby boy, into her family in October 2015.

Where did you grow up? 

Bendigo Victoria

What was your experience of Catholicism growing up?

My family are protestant, I found the Catholic Church through attending a Catholic secondary school and being involved with a Marist youth program. I became Catholic when I was 17, the same year as the Sydney WYD, 2008.

How did you meet your spouse?

In my first semester at university, 2011, while out at a pub. We had a very Hollywood style meeting, star crossed lovers. We instantly hit it off.

Where, when did you get married?

We married at Sacred Heart Cathedral Bendigo December 2012.

What do you love most about being a mum?

Watching my children grow. Watching their faces light up when they are happy. Mainly I just love watching and growing as a person because of them.

What do you find the most challenging about being a mum?

The self-doubt and the tantrums.
