A simple and easy handmade gift for baby!
You will need
- Patterned cotton fabric
- Light fusible interfacing (optional, but it will provide strength)
- Terry towelling or cotton waffle fabric
- Press fasteners (kits available with tools included)
- Hammer
- Quick unpick (seam ripper)
- Sewing machine
- Pins
- Coordinating thread
- Bandana pattern
What to do
Cut out pattern pieces on the fold. You will need one of each fabric. If you are using fusible interfacing iron onto underside of cotton pattern piece before any sewing.
Pin right sides together and sew around edges, about 1/4inch from the edge, leaving a 2inch gap.
Turn right side out and pin gap closed. Continue to pin around all edges and sew around edge as before this time finishing at your starting point.
Mark placement of press fasteners on fabric. We used 2 top halves on the left hand side and 3 bottom halves on the right hand side so that the bib could be adjusted as baby grows.
Using a Quick unpick (seam ripper) make a small hole through both layers of fabric. Place both sides of the fasteners together and hammer sharply using the tools provided. Repeat for all fasteners.
Press if desired.
