St John of God loved Jesus and didn’t like to see suffering without doing something about it. Make your own cross to keep Christ ever present before you as a visual reminder of His suffering and sacrifice that redeemed the world.
What you’ll need:
- 2 Paddlepop sticks
- Playdough or plasticine (our playdough recipe is here)
- Purple fabric or ribbon (1.5cm x 15cm)
- Craft glue
- Scissors
What to do:
Trim one paddlepop stick by about 4cm.
Glue this to another paddlepop stick to make your cross.
Leave to dry. Once dry drape your fabric over the cross like this:
Use some glue to hold in place. Leave to dry.
Make a small mound out of playdough or plasticine.
Press your cross into the middle.
All done and you could add this to your Lenten prayer space.
