4 Fantastic DIY Home cleaners
1. Grout Cleaner For Ceramic Tiles
- 7 cups water
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup vinegar
Pop all ingredients into a large jug or container and mix slowly to combine. The baking soda and vinegar will fizz so combine over a sink.
Pour into a spray bottle and spray over a small surface, or pour into a bucket and liberally mop over the larger surface. Leave for a few minutes then scrub, scrub, scrub!
Lemon juice can etch or damage marble stone when left on too long or not cleaned off properly.
2. Homemade Cream Cleaner
Here’s a very easy recipe to make your own homemade cream cleanser (like Jif!) – it’s suitable for kitchens and bathrooms, especially the basins.
- 1 3/4 cups bicarbonate of soda
- Approx 2/3 cup of dishwashing liquid
- Mix together to make a creamy substance. You may add about 10 drops of such as lavender, lemon or orange.
- Add to an old shampoo or dishwashing liquid bottle
3. Homemade freshener
- 30ml of your favourite smelling fabric softener (not made up)
- 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda
- enough water to fill a spray bottle
- A spray bottle
All the ingredients to a spray bottle and shake well. Label accordingly and use it to freshen up the house and get rid of odours!
4. Dishwasher tablets
Add a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda and three to four drops of eucalyptus oil to the soap dispenser. Wash on a hotter than usual wash.
