You might recall that I recently wrote about the fickleness of fertility recently in this post where I discussed my anovulatory cycles and a family history of early menopause.
I had begun to wonder if my family was complete.
But God has had other plans.
My husband and I are now expecting our fifth child. Yes, you read that right.
Realistically, I have had one ovulatory cycle since Master 19 months was born and we achieved a pregnancy in that cycle.
And at first, I couldn’t believe it.
And neither could my husband.
“Are you sure?” he kept asking me, like a broken record.
“Yes.” I kept replying, at this point having had a positive pregnancy test and seen the baby on the ultrasound at 6 weeks when I visited the obstetrician. “I am absolutely sure.”
It felt surreal, wonderful and completely unexpected. Actually, it still does.
As I write this I am 14 weeks along and still thanking God every day for the blessing of this pregnancy.
God’s plans are not our plans and for this, I am thankful every single day.
