The First Week Of Advent (Calendar Supplies)

 

For those Mums who would like to make a different Advent journey this year please join in our Advent Calendar. Each day during Advent I will be posting a new activity you and your family can undertake to prepare for the Christmas season.

Craft activities that involve sewing will also feature a no-sew variation so that every one can participate!

During the first week of Advent you will need the following supplies:

Day One – How To Make An Advent Calendar

No-sew: coloured paper in Christmas colours or prints (or 24 doilies), twine, hole punch

Sew: two cotton tea towels in Christmas colours, thread, needle or sewing machine, laundry marker or fabric paints, coat hanger

Day Two – How To Make An Advent Wreath

An Advent wreath and candles or materials to make one at home: Three purple, one pink and one white candle, wreath, plate, purple cloth and Holy Family set if you have one.

Day three – How To Make A Handprint Wreath

At least 4 sheets of A4 size green paper, red paper or a red ribbon, larger sheet of white paper, scissors and glue

Day Four – Beginning The Christmas Story

A nativity story book, pencils and paper

Day Five – Shortbread Stars

Plain flour, rice flour, butter, caster sugar, star cookie cutter.

Day Six – Christmas Cards

Christmas cards, paper, envelopes, stamps                                                     

Day Seven – The Feast Of Saint Nicholas

Paper, pencils   

 Other supplies you might like to invest in:

  • A storage box
  • Plastic folders or sleeves to store original sheets and instructions for each activity
