Easy DIY Girls Headbands
These are quick and easy and better yet, they use up leftover fabric scraps!
You will need:
- Fabric scraps including a stretch knit
- Needle and thread
- Ruler and pencil
- Scissors
What to do:
First start by measuring and cutting a piece of stretch knit 10cm by 30cm approx.
This will form the actual headband and the length given is approximate and will vary depending on the size of the head it will be going on. To get a more accurate length measure the head circumference of the recipient’s head and then deduct 2cm from that length to ensure firmness.
With right sides facing pin short edges together and sew. Pin long edges together and leave a gap for turning out the right way. After turning it out, sew gap closed.
Cut 5 rectangles 4x6cm from fabrics. Run a gathering stitch down the centre and pull firmly to create a bow shape.
Hand stitch bow into desired position on the headband and repeat for the other four bows.
All done! These headbands are very simple and can be adapted in any way you like!
