These DIY Pot Pourri Hearts are an old fashioned gift with a vintage design that are sure to impress that special mother in your life.
You will need:
- Homemade pot pourri (tutorial here)
- 10cm length of hessian or linen
- Ribbon
- Lace
- Buttons
- Sewing machine or needle and thread
- Scissors
- Template below
What to do:
Pre make your pot pourri in advance or, if stuck for time, pot pourri is readily available in shops like the Reject Shop.
Print and cut out template.
Cut two hearts from your fabric.
On one heart pin lace and sew along edges to keep in place.
Cut a 10cm length of ribbon and fold in half. Pin in place.
Pin hearts right sides together.
Sew around edges of hearts leaving an opening of about 3cm.
Turn right side out and fill with pot pourri.
Hand sew opening closed.
Add any other embellishments as desired.
For an alternative design pin ribbon onto lace and tie a bow before sewing hearts together.
