Book Review – “Therese, Faustina, and Bernadette: Three Saints Who Challenged My Faith, Gave Me Hope, and Taught Me How To Love” – Elizabeth Ficocelli

“Therese, Faustina, and Bernadette: Three Saints Who Challenged My Faith, Gave Me Hope, and Taught Me How To Love” is a book well received by many, easy to read and not easy to put down!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as a part of our book club last month (June). I found it very easy to read and also very enlightening. Not having had much prior knowledge, if any, on the lives of these saints it didn’t pose any issues. If anything it made me more intrigued to learn the power of these saints stories. Elizabeth gave a description of each of their lives with the perfect amount of detail. She captured their story but also helped you to know this person on a deeper level.

She interwound some of her own story on how the saints were brought into her life and how their individual strengths of character and faith influenced her, and ultimately made her a better christian.

It was inspiring to read and certainly sparked an interest within me to learn more about these saints. I learned so much from their way of life, their attitude towards suffering in love and their total devotion to and dependence on Our Father. What a gift it is to us to have access to these saints! Their prayers, intercession and the opportunity to learn from their lives and their work.

I would highly recommend this book as a great read as an introduction to the lives of these saints.
