Bible Craft – Jonah And The Whale

Jonah and the Whale

This is a quick and simple Bible craft activity using bits and pieces from around the house. The best thing is that Jonah actually fits inside the whale!

What you’ll need: a rectangular tea bag box, grey and pink paint, grey card or paper, a toilet roll and scraps of patterned or coloured paper, pipe cleaner, scissors, glue and a permanent marker.

How to make the whale:

Paint the tea bag box grey. Cut two fin shapes and one tail shape from grey paper or card painted the same grey as the box and stick on. Paint the inside of the box pink. When dry add details like a blowhole and eyes with a permanent marker.

How to make Jonah:

Cut a rectangular strip of patterned paper and adhere to the lower two thirds of the toilet roll. When dry make a hole on either side of toilet roll, through patterned paper and thread through the pipe cleaner, using a little glue to secure. Draw on a face with a permanent marker and add hair by using a narrow strip of brown paper and cutting a fringe on one long side. Glue to the top of the toilet roll.
